Serious local media tooling without streaming-service assumptions.
LMTV is being built for people who actually manage libraries: local files, duplicates, tags, derived clips, ratings, queues, and offline use that still makes sense months later.

Use the app without signing inCore principles
Designed around the same rules as the app: clear hierarchy, surface depth, and restrained motion.
Local-first, not login-first
The app is meant to work before you ever create an account. Sign-in only exists for optional sync and cloud-backed metadata.
Identity-aware media management
Exact duplicates, visually identical files, and derived clips can be grouped so your library describes the work, not just the path.
Built for repeated curation
Hierarchies, implied rules, queue-based review, and player-side tagging are there because one-off folder browsing is not enough.
Player-centric review
Move through media, keep context, make decisions quickly, and avoid bouncing between a viewer and a metadata tool.
Optional cloud, bounded scope
Sync is about app metadata, not turning the product into a remote media host. Raw local media remains a local concern.
Store releases are planned, not rushed
The product is still in active development. App Store, Google Play, and Microsoft Store releases come after the core shell and workflows are stable.
Workflow
Closer to VLC and MPC-HC in attitude, with much stronger library structure on top.
Browse local media directly
Start with libraries you already own, not a cloud catalog or a mandatory account flow.
Tag, rate, and merge identities
Build structure into the collection with tags, ratings, works, and saved views that remain useful over time.
Sync only if it helps
Bring your metadata to another device without making cloud dependency the core of the product.
Development state
Active build, public website, embed surface, auth groundwork.
The website and auth bridge are live now. The app itself is still being assembled and refined before preview builds go out.
What exists already
- Optional sign-in with Google and magic link flows
- Local-first website, legal pages, and public embed route
- Shared design language based on the app theme rules
Policies
Simple policies because the app default is simple.
LMTV is built around local ownership. That keeps the privacy story and the product obligations much cleaner than a cloud-first media platform.
